A trucker received a $92 fine for driving his tractor-trailer into the Metro-North train trestle at the intersection of Main and South Main streets Tuesday.
The accident happened around 8 p.m.
The top of the truck was about a foot taller than the 12-foot high bridge.
The trucker was on his way to make a delivery to the Keyrite Co. on Day Street.
The trailer become stuck temporarily under the bridge. The driver managed to squeeze it out — but the damaged trailer collapsed into itself a half-mile later on Pearl Street.
Pearl Street was closed so the trailer could be emptied.
The driver received a ticket for failing to obey a traffic sign.
The bridge did not sustain injuries.
