Trumbull Man Dies After Derby Motorcycle Accident

DERBY – A 34-year-old Trumbull man was killed after a motorcycle crash on Roosevelt Drive Sunday (June 2).

Corey Shaw was riding a 1994 Harley Davidson XL1200 eastbound on Roosevelt Drive when he came upon a curve in the road near Cullens Hill Road at about 8 p.m.

Shaw drove off the road and hit a metal guardrail, according to a prepared statement from Derby Police Department Sgt. Daniel Donston. He was thrown from the motorcycle.

Shaw was rushed to St. Vincent Hospital in Bridgeport, but succumbed to his injuries Monday morning (June 3).

They noted Shaw was wearing a helmet.

Accident reconstruction members from surrounding police agencies assisted the Derby Police with this investigation. At this time, there is no evidence to suggest there were any other vehicles involved,” Derby police said.
