Two Ansonia Men Arrested In Connection To Stratford Narcotics Investigation

ANSONIAAn Ansonia man and his roommate were arrested March 7 after a search warrant turned up drugs including cocaine, fentanyl, and oxycodone, according to a statement from Stratford police.

William Pjura, 29, was arrested and charged with operation of an illegal drug factory, and illegal possession with intent to sell of crack cocaine, fentanyl, and narcotics. Those charges are felonies.

George Rich, 60, was also arrested. He was charged with illegal possession of narcotics and illegally obtaining prescriptions. Those charges are misdemeanors.

According to a press release, Stratford police received a tip that fentanyl and cocaine were being distributed to street-level drug dealers in town. Police identified Pjura as the distributor, according to the release, and served a search warrant on his residence in Ansonia.

During the search, police said they found 42 grams of cocaine, 84 grams of fentanyl, a large assortment” of oxycodone pills, a 2010 Cadillac CTS, and $1,600 in cash.

Pjura is being held in lieu of a $250,000 bond, police said. Rich posted a $5,000 bond and was released.

Both men were given court dates of March 17 at Superior Court in Bridgeport.
