Two Injured In Rope Swing Accidents

Two people were injured Monday after falling from rope swings on the Housatonic River.

A woman on the lower Housatonic suffered an apparent broken wrist after falling from a rope swing. She was taken to Ayers Landing and evaluated by paramedics and an ambulance crew. That incident was reported at about 4 p.m.

In Derby, Storm ambulance boat drivers were out for training in the Housatonic when Lake Housatonic patrol personnel flagged them down near the Derby Recreation Camp.

A person was badly injured after hitting the water from the rope swing.

Storm ambulance members went into the water to stabilize the patient and bring him to shore.

The patient was taken to the Yale-New Haven trauma center by Storm’s emergency medical technicians.
