
SHELTON – Two teens were arrested Sept. 3 for allegedly possessing a stolen car.
According to a prepared statement from Shelton police, officers received a report of a vehicle stolen out of Stratford just after 12 a.m. Sept. 3.
Officers at a construction job downtown spotted a vehicle matching the description of the stolen car in a parking lot on Center Street.
“As officers approached the vehicle, three people fled on foot. Officers searched the area and were able to locate two of the three suspects,” according to police.
Devin Overton, 18, was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, conspiracy to commit larceny of a vehicle, and interfering with police. He was released on a $5,000 bond pending a Superior Court date of Oct. 24.
A 17-year-old from Shelton faces the same charges. His name was not released due to his age.
The third person from the vehicle wasn’t located but the investigation continues.
