
SHELTON – Police said two teenagers from New Haven were arrested for stealing a purse from a 73-year-old woman.
The woman was loading items into her vehicle in the parking lot of the Walmart off Bridgeport Avenue at about 3 p.m. on May 31 when a SUV approached her. A passenger got out, pushed the woman, and stole her purse.
“Eyewitnesses and video surveillance revealed the vehicle was a Hyundai Tucson, which was later discovered to be stolen,” according to a statement from Shelton police.
The vehicle was stopped by New Haven police in that city. The woman’s purse was found in the SUV.
The teens were charged with second-degree robbery; second-degree conspiracy to commit robbery; fourth-degree larceny, and; fourth-degree conspiracy to commit larceny.
Their names were not released to the fact they are 16.
