Seymour Founders Day will be like a big block party downtown again in June, but this time, Founders Day President Samuel Mirlis’ store will not be part of the celebration.
Unique Interiors, the antiques shop Mirlis has operated on Main Street for the past seven years, is clearing out with a moving sale.
The former Democratic candidate for first selectman said he will operate out of his home on Moss Avenue temporarily while he looks for an agreeable lease arrangement, which could be outside the downtown antiques district or Seymour itself.
He said most of his business is wholesale.
Mirlis said he was not satisfied with his lease arrangement and it was time to move on.
