Camerino was named MVP of the game, rushing for 153 yards on 15 attempts and two touchdowns — one through the air and one on the ground.

Camerino relieved senior quarterback Jonathan Groth fractured his ankle with 9:31 left in the game.

Derby (5 – 5) junior quarterback Ray Kreiger also was injured in the first half. Kreiger sustained a mild concussion and was not able to continue the game.

Senior Jonathan Haydu took over the quarterback role for the remainder of the game.

Groth threw two touchdowns before leaving the game.

Deangelis aided the Gaels’ (6 – 4) rushing attack, adding 160 yards on 33 carries and two touchdowns.

Kreiger scored two touchdowns, including a 12-yard completion to Jacob Tomczak with 11:49 left in the second quarter to tie the game 14 – 14.

Shelton would close the game out with 24 unanswered points.

Shelton now leads the series over the Red Raiders 50 – 43‑7.

This is the eighth-straight victory for Shelton. Derby’s last win against the Gaels was in 2002 — a 13 – 12 victory.
