SEYMOUR — The following story arrived via an email from the Seymour Public Library.

The Friends of the Seymour Public Library will be holding a used book sale on Friday, May 31 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm for members of the Friends. On Saturday the used book sale is open to the public and it will run from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm.

Since the last used book sale, we have cleared most of our shelves of books and we have restocked them. There are many books you haven’t seen at our sale before. Our history section had to be expanded for this sale – there are a lot of Civil War and World War II books. We also have some math and science books.

We received an estate donation that included quite a few books on Clock/Watchmaking and repair. The Children’s section has a lot of Beverly Cleary (Ramona), Magic Tree House, Rainbow Magic Fairy and Big Nate books. There are quite a few R.L. Stine (Fear Street) books that came in for Young Readers and we have a lot of games.

Also, we have received a very nice donation of like new art books by Boris Vallejo, John Bolton, Frank Frazetta, and Luis Royo.

SPECIALS

This sale only we are holding a special on books by Tom Clancy, John Grisham and James Patterson. All hard cover books and trade paperbacks (except for newer books) for these select authors will be discounted 50% — to just fifty cents each. All of the paperbacks for these authors will be just 25¢.

We are also running a special on puzzles, any puzzle, any size for $2 or less.

Finally, we have dropped prices on our CDs and DVDs to just 25¢ per disk.

Please come in and take advantage of these specials, we need to reduce some of our bloated inventory of these items.

It is time to think about summer books to help keep the children occupied during the hot summer months. Come on in to see what you find. We look forward to seeing you this weekend!
