Valley Community Foundation Announces Grants

The Valley Community Foundation announced it has awarded $199,600 in grants to nonprofits serving the Lower Naugatuck Valley in its third year of Responsive Grantmaking.

We received 42 applications containing over $420,000 in requests, for which we had $182,800 available,’ said Jamie Cohen, President of the Valley Community Foundation. Once again, our wonderful donors stepped forward, providing additional funding, which enabled us to assist 29 of the applicants reviewed by the Board of Directors. As a result of their generosity, we were able to make additional grants from Funds which would not have existed, except for VCF.”

Established in 2004, the Valley Community Foundation is dedicated to making the Valley a better place to live and work by increasing philanthropy, especially permanent endowments; connecting donors to needs and opportunities; and providing leadership on critical community issues. It serves Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour and Shelton, Connecticut. For more information, visit www.valleyfoundation.org.
