
SHELTON — The Valley Council for Health & Human Services will hold its Annual Meeting and Community Awards Presentation on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, via Zoom (login info is at the bottom of this article).
The event will feature keynote presenter Jim Kinsey, VP Engagement Strategies, Planetree International.
The meeting and awards presentation, which is sponsored by The Valley Community Foundation, will be held from 8:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m.
All Valley residents and community partners are welcome to Zoom in.
Key note speaker: Jim Kinsey, VP Engagement Strategies, Planetree International will present “Building a Community Response to Inequity”. The process of addressing inequities is not a singular focus or solution. To reduce social disparities and inequities requires a community approach. In this session we will discuss how to advance the work of the Valley Council to address and reduce social disparities and inequities.
Valley Council- HHS is honored to Present Awards to:
The Agency/Program of the Year Award recognizes a nonprofit agency that has made a significant and lasting contribution to the health and well being of Lower Naugatuck Valley residents. This year’s award will be presented to BHcare and Naugatuck Valley Health District.
The Lewis Savitsky Staff Excellence Award, named in honor of a long-time Valley United Way employee and community leader, is presented to individuals for excellence in their roles as employees in the nonprofit community. This year’s honorees are Ann Sieckhaus, Captain Cheryl McCullum, and Lisa Trupp.
The Richard O. Belden Community Service Award, named in honor of late State representative Richard O. Belden, is given to an individual or group whose efforts have made a significant contribution to improving the quality of life of Valley residents. The Council will present the 2021 Richard O. Belden award to the Valley Chamber of Commerce.

The Valley Council for Health and Human Services (VCHHS), established in 1993, is a partnership network of 40 non-profit community health and human service organizations working to improve the quality of life of residents in the Lower Naugatuck Valley.
