DERBY — The Great Give, an online fundraiser for nonprofits, was May 5 and May 6. I conducted about 24 interviews on Facebook Live during the 36-hour event as a way to mark the occasion.
I was happy to shine a light on Derby High School seniors Natalia Wyszkowski and Kaitlyn Gerckens.
Natalie is the Class of 2020’s valedictorian. She plans to attend Yale University next year. Kaitlyn is the senior class president. She plans to attend Southern Connecticut State University.
In the interview, the seniors talk about what it’s like to be pulled from school because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the strange fact they won’t have a traditional graduation ceremony because of the virus.
