In this episode of ‘Navel Gazing: The Valley Indy Podcast,’ I go over what I know about the proposal to build 215 apartments on Factory Street in Derby.
Then I react to the reactions from people who read my previous story.
One tidbit I learned after recording this podcast — the city has given the developer permission to use parking in “Hallock’s Landing” for this project, according to Andrew Baklik, Derby Mayor Rich Dziekan’s chief of staff:
“The city agreed to allow the developer to use the Caroline Street lot in the interim while we work out other parking solutions in the area that will hopefully service the not only their development, but also the entire South Side of Main Street. This may be in the form of a parking garage or lot somewhere else between Factory Street and Bridge Street. The developer requested use of the lot as additional parking even though they have enough on-site parking to satisfy the city’s P&Z regulations.”
More to come …
