Former Appellate Court Judge Joseph Flynn of Ansonia, second from left, and New England Schools Development Council senior associate James Connelly of Shelton, at right, were among the presenters at the Connecticut Probate Assembly’s recent quarterly meeting held on the campus of Central Connecticut State University.
Members of the state Council on Probate Judicial Conduct, they and Ellington Probate Judge Elisa Bartlett, at left, provided the statewide Probate Judges and clerks in attendance with an educational session on how the Council investigates judicial misconduct complaints. Created by the Legislature in 1975, the Council consists of five members who serve four-year terms, and who are professionals both with and without hands-on legal experience.
Pictured between Flynn and Connelly is Connecticut Probate Court Administrator Beverly Streit-Kefalas. Established to oversee, support and work to continuously improve Connecticut’s Probate Court system, the Office of the Probate Court Administrator hosted the event, led by its Law Department and the Probate Assembly’s Continuing Education Committee. Probate Judges are required to attend at least 15 hours of continuing education each year.
