Valley United Way Seeks Nominations

Valley United Way is accepting nominations for the 2010 Charles H. Flynn Humanitarian Award for community service in the Valley area.

The award is named for Charles H. Flynn who was the publisher of the Evening Sentinel and a very active community leader.

Following his death in 1969, this award was established because of his lifelong dedicated service to the entire Valley. The award was presented for the first time in 1971 to Alice Russ Cochran of Shelton.

Fred Ortoli of Oxford was the 2009 winner.

The full list of all 40 previous winners can be found on the United Way website.
