Valley United Way To Kickoff Fundraising Effort

Valley United Way will klick-off its 2010 – 2011 Community Fund raising Campaign on Wednesday, Sept. 22 at Derby’s new Middle School on Nutmeg Avenue. 

The event, which is sponsored by Prudential Annuities of Shelton, will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Campaign Chairman Joseph Pagliaro, Jr. will be announcing the campaign goal for this year, which helps to fund needed programs operated by a wide variety of agencies here in the Valley.

Pagliaro noted that in this difficult economic period, the services are in more demand than ever. He noted that the dollars raised in the United Way campaign stay right here in the Valley and benefit thousands of people here by providing services ranging from day care for children to meals for senior citizens. 

He said, The United Way campaign is an important and easy way for everyone in the community to work together to ensure that the needs of the community are met. We are very pleased to be begin the campaign in Derby’s beautiful new Middle School.”

During the course of the evening, Pagliaro will also introduce the other individuals serving in this year’s Campaign Cabinet. 

Attendees will also have the opportunity to tour the new school. Refreshments will be served.
