The Sprinters competed in their last home meet on Saturday, Feb. 11 against the Hamden YMCA Typhoons.
Both teams are members of the Central CT Coast YMCA. The Sprinters ended their regular season and now head to the Yankee Cluster Championship Meet in New Milford, CT and the New England Regional Championship Meet at Harvard University in March.

Competing against the Typhoons, Tommy Minar set a new Sprinters Team record in the age group 9 – 10 Boys’ 500 Freestyle (20 lengths of the pool) with a time of 7:10.81.
Several swimmers had 3 personal best times at home against Hamden, including; Ana Bogen, Madison Brenning, Noah Falkowski, Emily Giovannone, Lindsay Giovannone, Michael Kolk, Grace Scully, Michael Shortell, Stephanie Tabaka.
Competing against the Farmington YMCA Tsunami’s on February 4th, Jake Velleco set a new Valley YMCA Sprinters’ Team Record in the age group event 11 – 12 Boys’ 100 Butterfly with a time of 1:12.48. Also setting a new Team Record at this meet was the 9 – 10 Boys’ Team of Victor Falkowski, Tommy Minar, Jack Crocamo, Daniel Matyszczyk, making a new record with a time of 2:12.39 in the 200 Freestyle Relay.
Several swimmers had 3 personal best times in Hamden; including Lexi Brinkmann, Lindsay Giavannone, Emilija Griceviciute, Julian Guevara, Asialynn Hurd, Luke Kohut, Samantha Lombard, Tommy Minar, Makenna Nicholas, Anthony Ragaini, Sara Ragaini, Grace Scully, Matthew Torres and Jake Velleco.
The following swimmers have qualified for the New England Championships.

The Valley YMCA is a branch of the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA. The Sprinters are members of the Yankee Cluster League, which is a subdivision of the Northeast Region of the National Council of YMCA​’s. Swimmers ages 5 – 18 years old are eligible to join the swim team. The Valley YMCA Sprinters are lead by Head Coach Kelly Crocamo along with Assistant Coaches Patrick DiCaprio, Phil Garofolo and Chris Durette.
