Here’s a brief rundown.

The meeting’s public session began with First Ward Alderman (and mayoral candidate) Edward Adamowski taking the podium to thank everyone he’s worked with as an Alderman in the past six years, and asked that no matter what the results of next month’s elections are, those taking part in the process keep the politics to a minimum.”

Next, Ken Mitchell, captain at the Webster Hose Hook & Ladder Co. 3 on Platt Street, asked the Aldermen to do what they can to get the floor at the firehouse on Platt Street replaced as quickly as possible. Problems were discovered there over the summer.

Randy Carroll of Fourth Street spoke next during the public session, commending a police officer for playing basketball with children at Gatison Park.

At about the 8‑and-a-half minute mark, Mayor David Cassetti gives Aldermen a monthly update, and after his remarks asked Peter Georgetti, an engineer, to talk about the Webster Hose floor.

Georgetti said the project will be put out to bid next week and construction will hopefully begin in December.

About 19 minutes into the video several other city officials give Aldermen updates, including John Marini, the city’s corporation counsel, Economic Development Director Sheila O’Malley, and Police Chief Kevin Hale.

Around 40 minutes into the meeting the Aldermen begin discussing several communications and resolutions, which included discussion of Oak Lane, and whether the city should pave private roads.

Also discussed: a new street sweeper for public works, a cost-sharing agreement with Derby to buy a food truck, a grant to assess polluted properties, and the city’s pensions.
