Just 351 people had voted in the Oxford budget referendum as of 1 p.m.
There are 8,324 eligible voters in Oxford.
“I don’t know why (the number is low),” said Robert DeBisschop, a polling place moderator. “Some people complained about (not enough) publicity.”
The polling place — Quaker Farms School on Great Oak Road — is open until 8 p.m.
Residents are deciding on three questions — a $26.3 million school budget, a $13.6 million town budget and $98,130 for road repairs.
The budget represents a tax increase of 2.66 mills, but taxes are not guaranteed to increase across the board because Oxford went through a revaluation in the fall.
