VSF ‘Christmas Carol’ Podcast Features Lots Of Valley Voices

While restrictions brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic have wreaked havoc on the performing arts, The Valley Shakespeare Festival has turned to new ways to deliver theater to the people.

The latest effort is a podcast rendering of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol,” a production that the Shelton-based nonprofit usually performs live, in-person.

The Valley Shakespeare Festival’s multi-part podcast started releasing earlier this month. To mix things up, while the production is anchored by actor/VSF founder Tom Simonetti of Shelton, the majority of the parts are being played by Valley business people and nonprofit representatives.

Locals involved in the production include Patricia Tarasovic, formerly of The Valley United Way; David Morgan of Team, Inc.; David Kennedy of The Valley United Way; a certain ham from The Valley Indy; Diane Stroman, formerly of Team Inc. and an Ansonia Alderwoman; Nicole Mikula (and daughter Magnolia) of Bring the Hoopla and Celebrate Shelton; Jim Calkins of Seasonal Catering; Joan Stokes of the Shelton Library System, and many more!
