
ANSONIA — Police said a ‘suspicious activity’ tip led to a drug and weapons arrest on Jan. 4. Someone contacted police at 3:45 p.m. to report suspicious activity at Colony Park.
Police didn’t relay the specific activity thought to be suspicious. But, after responding to the park to investigate, they said they found two men in the parking lot. One of the men provided a false name, police said.
That man has been identified as Jeremiah Perkins, 24, of Waterbury.Police said Perkins was in possession of a stolen handgun, 350 folds of fentanyl, 2.5 grams of crack cocaine, along with $3,640 in cash.
The gun had been reported stolen from a residence in Ansonia, police said.
Perkins is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of fentanyl, possession of crack cocaine, criminal possession of a firearm, and stealing a firearm.He’s free on a $100,000 bond pending a Jan. 18 court date.
