I am Janet Vitarius Waugh, Town and City Clerk for Ansonia, Connecticut. I am running for my third term (first elected in November 2015) as the Republican candidate on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. I am proud to be a part of Mayor David S. Cassetti’s Team and to continue the great progress we have made Recharging Ansonia.
I wanted to share with you a few of my observations about the Town and City Clerk’s role. The Town and City Clerk must be energetic, patient, caring and understanding. The Town and City Clerk’s office is usually the first point of contact for residents who come to city hall or call seeking information. We are the information center for the City. Residents may need help with vital documentation, land records, City meetings, agendas, and minutes.
In the last four years, the Clerk’s office has modernized its operations and upgraded technology to make the office more efficient for our residents. We have applied and received yearly grant funds from the State of Connecticut to refurbish some of the old vital documentation along with original documentation which needed to be rebounded and preserved for future years.
I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity during my campaign to reach out to our community via door knocking(a personal favorite of mine), at City events and group waves preceding the Charger football games. During my campaign, I also had the pleasure of revisiting residents and meeting new ones. I always learn a great deal from our residents and get to know the community I live and work in better.
I look forward to serving the residents of Ansonia for another two years as the Town and City Clerk with your support on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5th, 2019. Please remember Mayor Cassetti and his entire Team.
Please exercise your right to vote and I ask that you VOTE ROW B in this upcoming election and re-elect the team that is continuing to move the city forward in a positive direction!
