The Derby Historical Society’s 1762 Docents take a moment to pose for a photo to wish all the students who came to visit the David Humphreys House a final “Good Day” for the school year. Students learned about David Humphreys who among other things was our country’s first Ambassador and favorite Aide to George Washington. In 1762 Humphreys’ was 10 years old which is the age of most of the students who attend the program. The children toured the surrounding historic neighborhood and inside of Humphreys’ house and also had hands on experience using a Loom, a Spinning Wheel and cooking on an Open Hearth. Docents pictured here left to right are Markanthony Izzo, Amanda Albeke, Chris Bouley, Linda Milardo, Elsie Valeski, Ginny Ellis, Betty Plisko.
