Winter Storm Made For A Great Klondike Derby

Eight inches of snow Saturday was PERFECT for the Housatonic Council Boy Scouts of America 2010 Klondike Derby.

The event was held at Osbornedale State Park in Derby.

Parent Rich Hopwood sent along the photos. He said about 80 Scouts participated.

The Scouts practiced skills that included:

Log Sawing

Sledge Across the Ravine

Fire Building

Cooking

Teamwork and problem solving tasks.

There were scouts from Shelton, Ansonia, Derby, Seymour, and Oxford.
