A 24-year-old woman died after a head-on collision on Bridgeport Avenue in Shelton Thursday.
The crash happened at about 6:30 p.m.
Police said a Buick Century being driven by Leigh Sabo, 24, was heading north on Bridgeport Avenue when it struck a Mazda CX‑9 being driven by 41-year-old Leigh Brewster, who was heading south.
Sabo was later pronounced dead at Bridgeport Hospital. Her 15-month-old daughter was in the car and had minor injuries, police said in a prepared statement. Brewster was also injured.
Sabo lived in Shelton. Brewster is from Monroe.
The crash happened near the road’s intersection with Nells Rock Road.
The department’s accident reconstruction team is investigating.
No tickets have been issued.
