A woman was hospitalized Wednesday afternoon after police said she was struck by a vehicle in Derby.
In a prepared statement issued Thursday afternoon, Derby Police Patrolman Robert Brown said police and medical personnel were dispatched at 2:49 p.m. Wednesday to the area of Derby Avenue and Gilbert Street on a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.
“The female pedestrian was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital where she is currently in stable condition,” Brown’s statement said.
Police did not identify the woman struck, or the driver of the vehicle involved.
The case is under investigation.
