An 82-year-old woman was injured Tuesday after being struck by a car on Derby Avenue.
The woman was hit around 6:14 p.m. Her name was not released, making it impossible to check on her condition.
She was in the crosswalk in front of the Catholic War Veteran’s building.
The woman was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital by Derby Storm Ambulance.
Derby police said the driver of the vehicle, Peter Pearce, 80, of Seymour, was at fault for the accident. He received a ticket for failing to grant the right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
Tuesday’s accident was at the same spot where 31-year-old Claudia Woodford died after being hit by a car in September 2002.
