WWE Visits Ansonia High School For Anti-Bullying Program

WWE photoAnsonia High School students got a visit from a WWE diva Wednesday morning — pitching an anti-bullying message.

Diva Eve Torres is a wrestler for WWE. On Wednesday, she donned her regular street clothes and talked to about 700 students in the Ansonia High School gymnasium.

Where I grew up it wasn’t cool to be a good student … What I realized later is bullying does not end in high school,” Torres said. Unfortunately bullying doesn’t stop.”

So students have to learn how to be confident and create positive environments for themselves, Torres said.

The program was part of the Be A Star“ anti-bullying initiative co-founded by WWE and the Creative Coalition.

The program includes anti-bullying curriculum for teachers to use in the classroom to promote anti-bullying, tolerance and respect.

The school district did not allow photos of video of the event, so press photos are included in this article. School officials did not explain why photos were not allowed.
