You’ll Need Facebook To Comment On Valley Indy Stories

The Valley Independent Sentinel is switching to a new commenting system.

Readers who want to post a comment will now be required to sign in with their Facebook account.

If you’re not one of the 750 million people who already have Facebook accounts, visit Facebook.com.

If you already have a Valley Indy account, you will have to go through the hassle of signing up with Facebook. That’s a pain in the neck and we apologize.

If you already have a Facebook account, you’re good to go.

You can still use your original Valley Indy registration info to submit items to the calendar.

We’re making the switch because thousands of Valley Indy readers already use Facebook to talk to us every day on our active Facebook page.

We’re hoping the switch will encourage more people to talk to us here.

When you comment on this site, you have the option of sharing your comments with your friends on Facebook.

Facebook will reduce the chance for personal attacks and other violations of our terms of service, because most people on Facebook seem to use their real names.

Our thousands of Facebook readers have already shown they are comfortable talking to us using their real names, as evidenced by the comments on our Facebook page.

Keep in mind when you sign in with Facebook, we have no access to your personal information — none, nada, not at all.

We still have the ability to ban people who violate our terms of service, so be nice!

Whew — I’ve never written the word Facebook” so many times before.
