The Second Annual Southwestern Connecticut Youth Book Expo will take place Saturday (Oct. 20) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Huntington Branch Library, 41 Church St., Shelton.
Nearly 30 authors and illustrators are scheduled to be at the event.
“The authors and illustrators are looking forward to meeting everyone and discussing their love of books in addition to signing autographs,” event organizers wrote on their website.
They said the expo is great opportunity for:
- Readers to meet their favorite authors
- Non-readers to be inspired
- Aspiring writers to be motivated
- Parents/grandparents to stock up on autographed books as special gifts for the upcoming holidays
- Teachers/librarians to restock their classroom/library shelves
- PTAs to scout out an author for their next school presentation
- TO CELEBRATE THE JOY OF READING!
The event is a joint effort to promote literacy by the Shelton Library System and Written Words Bookstore.
