Letter: Klarides-Ditria Supports First Responders, Families

State Rep. Nicole Klarides-Ditria is a friend of the public safety community. In her first term in Hartford, she has stood up for first responders and their families.

She supported legislation to keep violent offenders off the streets. In addition, she helped pass legislation to help tackle the opioid addiction crisis.

Nicole also co-sponsored legislation to make it a hate crime to attack a first responder. And, she co-sponsored a bill that would have promoted mental health care and suicide prevention for first responders.

Furthermore, Nicole is standing up to Governor Dan Malloy’s attempts to block the fire training school from being built in Beacon Falls. She is a vocal supporter of having the training school built.

On Tuesday, November 6th, I ask that all my brothers and sisters in uniform support Nicole Klarides-Ditria for State Representative.

The writer is a Seymour police officer, but is not writing on behalf of the department.
