Bridgeport Man Faces Five Felony Charges In Shelton

Mason

A 31-year-old Bridgeport man faces five felony charges connected to an alleged home invasion last month.

According to a statement from Shelton police, officers received a call early Nov. 14 from a woman on Howe Avenue saying Owen Mason had strangled her during an argument.

Mason fled the scene before cops arrived, according to the police statement. Mason allegedly returned to the woman’s apartment several hours later, broke in, pulled a gun, and threatened to kill her.

He again got away, despite an all-night manhunt.

Mason was jailed Nov. 18, according to an online inmate database, stemming from three felony gun charges lodged in Bridgeport.

Shelton police caught up with Mason during a court appearance Dec. 10.

Shelton police charged with home invasion, second-degree strangulation, criminal possession of a firearm, and risk of injury to a child.

The risk of injury charge was lodged because the woman’s two children, age 4 and 5, were both home when he allegedly broke in.

Mason is being held at the Bridgeport Correctional Facility on bonds totaling more than $275,000.
