Children’s July Events At The Plumb Memorial Library

The Children’s Dept of the Plumb Memorial Library, 65 Wooster Street, Shelton, will be offering a series of special programs for the month of July.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS

Improv Night @ the Library: Tweens (5th and 6th Grade) are invited to come take the stage for improvisational theater games for beginners on Monday, July 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 from 5 pm‑6 pm Registration is required.

Chocolate Olympics: Wednesday, July 11 from 6 pm‑7 pm. Chocolate fans of all ages are asked to enjoy an evening of fun and games. Food Allergy Waiver Form must be completed prior to child attending this event. Registration is required.

Homeschool STEAM Club: Tuesday, July 17 from 12 pm‑1 pm. This monthly program is geared for Homeschooled preschool and elementary – aged children. Registration is required.

Summer Movies: Wednesday, July 18 from 6 pm‑8 pm. This month’s feature is The Incredibles! Free snacks and water provided. Registration is required.

Blockheads (Lego) Building Competition: Tuesday, July 24 from 1 pm‑2 pm.

Entrants will have one hour to put their imaginations to the test and build a Lego piece based upon this year’s theme: Emojine a Summer at the Library” Prizes will be awarded for winning entries. All ages are welcome. Registration is required.

Mandala Sand Craft: Wednesday, July 25 from 2 pm‑3 pm Kids in Grades 1‑Grade 6 and their caregivers are invited to create pictures that will add a burst of brilliant color to a delightful summer craft. Registration is required.

Glow-In-The-Dark Fun: Wednesday, July 25 from 6 pm‑7 pm. Join an evening of glow in the dark activities including glow-in-the-dark slime and glow-in-the-dark games. Please wear white or light colored clothing so you will glow too. All ages are welcome. Registration is required.

Spanish Programs:

Spanish with Sandra for children ages 2 – 7 years old and their caregivers meet on Tuesday at 4:30 pm- 5:00 pm on July 3, 10, 17, 24, 31.

Talking in Spanish for tweens ages 10 – 13 meets on Tuesday at 5pm‑5:45pm on July 3, 10, 17, 24, 31.
Registration is required for both Spanish Programs.

Storytimes:

Monday-Bookworms meet on July 9, 16, 23. 

Tuesday-Fun for Little Ones meet on July 10, 17, 24, 31

Thursday-AlphaBits meet on July 5, 12, 19, 26 

All three storytimes take place at 10:30 am-11:00 am and are geared to children from ages 0 – 5 years old and their caregivers. No registration is required. 

Story To Art : Wednesday, July 11 and 25 at 10:30 am-11 am. Bi-weekly storytime for children ages 3 – 5 and their caregivers. No registration is required.

Life is Art craft program for tweens ages 10 and up is offered every Thursday at 6 pm‑7:30 pm. No registration is required.
