ANSONIA — The family of a woman badly injured after being hit by a car outside Stop & Shop on Division Street has set up a “Go Fund Me” page to help cover expenses.
Danielle Esposito was on the sidewalk with her husband, Andrew, when they were struck by an elderly driver on Aug. 25. Her leg had to be amputated.
Since then she’s had 10 surgeries and is still a patient at Yale-New Haven Hospital, according to the Go Fund Me page.
Both Andrew and Danielle are currently out of work due to this horrible accident while they have two children in college.
According to a social media post on a Facebook community page for Ansonia, the family plans to use any money raise to make their house accessible for Danielle.
