The NY Times recently did a “Living In” feature on my hometown of Somers, N.Y., an affluent New York City suburb.
It stirred some feelings in me, and I was in a bad mood to begin with, so I invited two people I went to school with from Somers on the podcast to learn whether the article bothered them.
We talk about bullying, being poor, unchecked residential development, being single in a yuppie bedroom community, and what it’s like to watch as your neighborhood transforms from working class to wealthy.
