Letter: Cassetti Has No Opponent, But His Supporters Still Need To Vote On Election Day

ANSONIA — Mayor Cassetti is arguably one of the most popular mayors in Ansonia history who has consistently been elected by significant margins by the Ansonia voters. He has a genuine love for the city of Ansonia and residents and displays the same resolute work ethic serving our community as he had in his construction days.

His vision along with the dedication of his experienced and competent team has resulted in amazing development and progress in our city over recent years. And yet, as the Mayor prepares to begin his FIFTH term in a few months, the Ansonia Democrats feel that the team that has been instrumental to such amazing success should be replaced.

They claim they approve of the Mayor’s performance and even use the slogan… FOR CONTINUED POSITIVE PROGRESS IN ANSONIA” and yet they criticize and obstruct at every opportunity. That progress they refer to is the result of the collective work and perseverance of Team Cassetti.

We are witnessing very exciting times in Ansonia and we should stay the course with those who have proven themselves time and time again. If you feel the same way, it is imperative that you vote Row B for Team Cassetti even though the mayor is unopposed this election. To be complacent and content with the fact that the mayor will serve another term and NOT go to the polls would be a terrible mistake. The reduced Republican turnout could allow the opposition to pack the Board of Aldermen and throw the proverbial monkey wrench into the works that have been running like a well oiled machine up until now. I could be wrong, but I suspect that it may be a very calculated strategy to not have a Democratic candidate for mayor.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 2. Please consider the options carefully and be sure to vote. It’s more important than ever. Encourage your family to do the same and advise anyone eligible but has not voted before that registration is very quick and easy. Information is available at the City of Ansonia website.
