In a prepared statement, Ansonia Police Lt. Patrick Lynch said Richard Signor, 37, and Melissa Marti-Signor, 36, were arrested after police received a complaint about M & R Remodeling, a company they own and operated.

The investigation showed that $134,000 was paid to M & R Remodeling for a home addition and that only $69,000 worth of work was completed before M & R Remodeling stop working at the house and refused to reimburse the unused balance,” Lynch said.

Both were charged with first-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny.

Lynch said Richard Signor was being held on $50,000 and is due in court June 12.

Marti-Signor has been released after posting $35,000 bond and is also due in court June 12, Lynch said.
