A judge Monday sentenced Louis Santo III, the Derby man accused of cyberstalking actress Rose McGowan, to three years probation.
The sentence will keep Santo out of prison — provided he does not try to contact McGowan or her associates again.
McGowan starred in “Planet Terror” and had a recurring role in the television show “Charmed.”
Santo’s sentencing in Superior Court in Derby was quick. Neither he, his lawyer nor Judge Burton Kaplan commented on the matter.
Santo had been accused of threatening McGowan. He claimed she stole a script from him — and that they went to college together.
McGowan’s lawyer noted that she’s never met him — and that the tone of the threats, some made on Twitter, were escalating.
At a court appearance earlier this month, a prosecutor called Santo delusional.
He pleaded guilty to to second-degree threatening, second-degree harassment and second-degree breach of peace.
Santo told the Valley Indy he didn’t think he had any other option.
“I’m not a violent person, I don’t have a history of violence,” Santo said outside the court room.
In Tweets allegedly sent by Santo, he said he loved McGowan.
When asked by the Valley Indy if he still loved the actress, Santo said:
“‘Of course I still love her. I don’t hate anybody.”
Santo said he planned never to send her a screenplay again.
McGowan also has a three-year restraining order against Santo.
