Seymour Man Charged In Shelton Bank Robbery

SHELTON Police have charged a Seymour man with robbing a Bridgeport Avenue bank Monday morning.

In a prepared statement, Shelton Police Lt. Robert Kozlowsky said 37-year-old Michael Mangiafico was charged with first-degree robbery and third-degree larceny.

Shelton police and detectives arrested Mangiafico Wednesday with help from Seymour cops, Kozlowsky said.

He’s charged with sticking up the Key Bank at Bridgeport Avenue about 10 a.m. Monday (Oct. 15).

After the robbery police released photos from the bank’s surveillance cameras which helped lead to an arrest.

The expedited arrest was partially due to the tips received after releasing pictures of the suspect to the public,” Kozlowsky said.

Mangiafico was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at Superior Court in Derby.
