GIMME SOME POPCORN BALLS
Popcorn Ball Sunday is Dec. 23 for both the east and west sides of Derby.
The west side popcorn ball Sunday was supposed to be Dec. 16, but weather prompted members of the Derby Storm Engine Co. Ambulance and Rescue Corps to push the event to Sunday, Dec. 23.
The storms plan to hit the west side between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The Hotchkiss Hose fire company had always planned to do Popcorn Ball Sunday on Dec. 23 for the east side, and that is still scheduled.

Keep in mind Popcorn Ball Sunday is organized by volunteer firefighters who can’t hit every street in Derby. Emergency calls may also interfere with the throwing of the balls.
Also, there is still time to have Santa and the elves from Derby’s East End Hose Co. deliver toys to your home on Dec. 23.
