Valley United Way $60,000 Away From Fundraising Goal

The Valley United Way makes a real difference in the lives of hard working people who can’t make ends meet, communities who are responding to crisis, senior citizens who need support, and young people who are being prepared for a bright future.

In the last year alone, your support helped the Valley United Way assist over 100,000 Valley residents by providing basic needs and assisting people in crisis situations.

Although the United Way is one of the largest philanthropic organizations in the world, each United Way is completely local. What makes the Valley United Way unique is that all funds raised stay in our community in the towns of Shelton, Derby, Seymour, Ansonia and Oxford.

The Valley United Way is thinking strategically about our work so there are long-term solutions for families in our Valley. We have recently started the Grown Your Own Garden Program where neighborhoods are leading the way to create community gardens with fresh fruit and vegetables in an effort to combat food insecurity ; and to ensure youngsters are getting access to nutritious foods. That is just one of the many ways we are improving the quality of life for families – by mobilizing the caring power of our community through philanthropy, volunteerism, and collaboration.

The old adage is true – with the United Way, you give once but help many. This year, we have set a goal to raise $1.1 million dollars for our Valley, and we are $60,000 short. We are working to raise $60,000 by our deadline of June 30th, and hope you can help us reach our goal.
