Water Main Replacement Project Scheduled To Begin In Seymour June 16, 2021

SEYMOUR — From Aquarion Water Co.:

A water main replacement project is scheduled to begin June 16, 2021, on South Main Street in Seymour starting in the area of Maple Street and ending at Westerman Avenue.

This project is expected to be completed by the end of November 2021. Final paving will then be scheduled in coordination with the state Department of Transportation.

The project, which will replace approximately 4,000 feet of water main, is part of an ongoing program to improve Aquarion’s water distribution system and to ensure the highest quality water. The infrastructure upgrades will also help to reduce leaks and water main breaks that can cause service interruptions.

Due to construction, customers should expect minor traffic delays and possible detours during the working hours of 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Plainville-based Mizzy Construction, Inc. will be serving as the contractor for the water main replacement project.

To keep customers informed about scheduled/unscheduled work, Aquarion utilizes an Everbridge notification system to call affected customers. Aquarion encourages customers to sign up for this free service at www.aquarionwater.com/alerts.
