Waugh: My Goal Is To Make Government More Accessible

I am Janet Vitarius Waugh, Town and City Clerk for Ansonia Connecticut. I am running for re-election as the Republican candidate on November 7, 2017 and I am proud to be a part of Mayor David S. Cassetti’s Team.

After being elected as Town and City Clerk in November of 2015, I worked diligently to improve the efficiency of the office and to create a warm and welcoming environment for our residents. I believe the changes we have made have been beneficial to the residents. I also believe it is my job to take the time to listen to their concerns and questions. I am happy to report we are getting very positive feedback with respect to the changes we have made in the Town and City Clerk’s Office.

Mayor Cassetti places a high priority on customer service and efficiency in government and the office of Town and City Clerk should reflect those priorities. I have worked hard for the last two years to organize, enhance and improve the look of that office. Our office is one of the busiest offices in City Hall and I want visitors to know that we value their time and we care about making sure there is an ease of accessibility to city services. I have always felt that it doesn’t cost much to provide those services along with a smile. I want the residents to have a pleasant experience when visiting City Hall and make sure they receive the service that they deserve as taxpayers of Ansonia. After all, we serve at your pleasure.

Along with a more modern and more easily accessible office, we are bringing about more efficiencies. One of the ways in which I have done that is the creation of a MONTHLY CLERKS CALANDER which is posted in the exterior office of the Town and City Clerk. This calendar will help to provide more accurate and up-to-date information regarding meetings and timely filings.

The City and Town Clerk’s Office is held to a higher standard when it comes to customer service. I believe we have been doing just that over the last two years. Our goal is to make government more accessible and to make the resident’s trip to City Hall productive and friendly. In today’s day and age, everyone’s time is limited and extremely valuable. I do my very best to be respectful of that. I consider it my honor and a privilege to serve the residents of this great City.

I am Janet Vitarius Waugh and I humbly ask for the opportunity to serve another two years as the Town and City Clerk on Tuesday, November 7th. Please remember Mayor Cassetti and his Team in this upcoming election and please exercise your right to vote!
