Weekly Call Statistics From The Shelton Volunteer Fire Department

SHELTON — SHELTON VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT WEEKLY RESPONSES

On 09/21/20 at 6:55 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded with an engine and a rescue truck to a car fire on route 8 north bound at exit 12.

On 09/22/20 at 11:47 am the Pine Rock Co. #4 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded with an engine to a fire alarm activation at #594 River Road. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm.

On 09/22/20 at 12:39 pm the Pine Rock Co. #4 and the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded with an engine to a fire alarm activation at #55 Soundridge Road. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm.

On 09/22/20 at 1:18 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded with two engines to a mulch fire in the parking lot at #515 Bridgeport Avenue.

On 09/22/20 at 4:55 pm the Echo Hose H &L Co. #1 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded with an engine and a ladder truck to the Sinsabaugh Heights Housing Complex at #187 Meadow Street. There was no fire. Smoke from cooking caused the alarm.

On 09/23/20 at 4:46 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded with an engine and a rescue truck to route 8 north bound near exit 13 for a car fire. No fire was found.

On 09/23/20 at 5:00 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded with an engine and a rescue truck to route 8 north bound near exit 13 to assist police and EMS at a motor vehicle accident.

ON 09/24/20 AT 8:52 am the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded with an engine to #9 Carley Street for a carbon monoxide alarm activation.

On 09/24/20 at 11:50 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded with an engine to a fire alarm activation at the Inline Plastics Corporation at #42 Canal Street. There was no fire.

On 09/24/20 at 3:26 pm the White Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded with an engine to a fire alarm activation at #94 Village Drive. There was no fire.

ON 09/25/20 at 5:31 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 and the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded to with an engine and a ladder truck to a fire alarm activation at the Ripton Housing Complex at #423 Howe Avenue. There was no fire.

On 09/25/20 at 6:23 pm the Echo Hose responded with a unit to a motor vehicle accident on Coram Avenue at Maltby Street.

On 09/26/20 at the White Hills Co. #5 responded with a unit to East Village Road at Village Drive for a public service call.

On 0926/20 at 4:20 pm the White Hills Co. #5 responded with a ladder truck to assist Derby FD at a fire alarm activation at the Griffin Hospital on Division Street. There was no fire.

On 09/27/20 at 10:12 am the White Hills Co. #5 and the Huntington Co. #3 responded with an engine to a fire alarm activation at #50 Big Horn Road. There was no fire.

On 09/27/20 at 10:31 am the Huntington Co. #3 responded with a unit to an electrical hazard at #27 Daybreak Lane.

On 09/27/20 at 4:19 pm the Echo Hose Co. #1 responded with a unit to assist EMS at the Shelton Health Care Center at #5 Lake Road.

On 09/27/20 at 5:10 pm the Huntington Co. #3 and the White Hills Co. #5 responded with an engine and a ladder truck to an odor investigation at #28 Elderberry Lane.

On 09/27/20 at 7:32 pm the Pine Rock Co. #4 responded with an engine to an open burning on Asbury Ridge Road.

On 09/28/20 at 03:49 am the Echo Hose Co. #1, White Hills Co. #4, Pine Rock Co. #4, Derby FD and the Ansonia FD responded with numerous engines, ladder trucks and rescue truck to a structure fire at #475 Howe Avenue. Upon arrival firefighters found in the basement of the three- story brick building but not before it caused extensive fire and smoke damage to the basement area. The occupancies above sustained smoke and damage from fire department operations. Howe Avenue was shut down for several hours while firefighters worked the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
