WTNH: ‘Racial Profiling’ Complaint Involving Derby PD

Several Derby police officers are under investigation because of an encounter with a group of teens after the July 3 fireworks show in downtown Derby, WTNH reports.

The officers were attempting to get the group to disperse. A video posted by WTNH shows one of the officers refusing to give a badge number.

The report questions whether racial profiling triggered the incident because most of the group of teens were black.

Derby Police Chief Gerald Narowski said an internal affairs investigation is underway.
