Keith Maynard appeared in Superior Court in Derby Tuesday, where Judge Barbara Bellis modified an order of protection against the former Alderman.
Maynard was arrested in August for allegedly attacking his fiancee days before they were married. Maynard allegedly threw a blanket over the woman during the attack, then ran out of the house they shared.
He was charged with second-degree assault and first-degree unlawful restraint, both of which are felonies. He was also charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, a misdemeanor.
He resigned from the Board of Aldermen shortly after his arrest.
Maynard picked up another charge earlier this month, when police said he called the victim, which violated an order of protection. Maynard is due back on court on the latest charge April 8.
Maynard is due back in court on the assault-related charges June 24.
Bellis Monday modified an order of protection against Maynard regarding the house he owns on Clifton Avenue. He is allowed to do work on the house between 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
However, the permission expires April 7, the judge said.
Maynard’s court appearance Tuesday lasted three minutes.
