Shelton Citgo Robbed at Knifepoint, Suspect In Custody

Shelton police have made an arrest in this morning’s robbery at the Citgo on River Road.

Patrick Re, 21, of Stratford was charged with first-degree robbery and sixth degree larceny. He was held on a $250,000 bond and will be arraigned at Superior Court in Derby Tuesday morning.

The suspect entered the store at the gas station at about 10:45 a.m., and threatened the clerk with a knife, police said.

He left the scene in a small car with an undetermined amount of cash.

There were two employees in the store when the robbery happened, according to Det. Sgt. Kevin Ahern. No one was injured, Ahern said.

The two employees are shaken, but not injured,” he said.

Police would not say what type of knife the suspect had.

Re was developed as a suspect by Shelton detectives and then located by members of the Stratford Police Department, according to Shelton police.
