Adam M. Abbels, 29, of Shelton, entered into eternal rest on May 3, 2013, in his home.
Adam was born in Rockville, CT on June 24, 1983, son of Michael E. Abbels of Smithtown, NY and the late Linda H. Piazza Abbels of Oxford.
Despite Adam’s struggle with illness for most of his life, what brought him great joy and satisfaction was to help other people, especially giving rides to people who were not able to drive. Adam will also be remembered for his great sense of humor. Adam was a tender soul and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his father, he is survived by two loving and devoted sisters, Carolyn S. Cargnel and her fiancée Louis Cutaneo of Shelton and Kristyn L. Rosa and her husband Diamond of Oxford, cherished nieces and nephews, Christian and Devan Cargnel of Shelton, Vanessa, Kassidy, and Marissa Rosa of Oxford, aunts, Carol Wiencko and her husband Anthony of Shelton and Debra Mascia of Milford, cousins, Anthony Wiencko of Shelton and Taylor and Connor Mascia of Milford and many friends, especially Tara Hall of Seymour and Jim Joss of Shelton.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Jack and Inez Abbels and maternal grandmother, Helen Piazza. Adam’s family would like to thank Dr. Liqun Song at Valley Medical Associates and the staff at BHcare for their persistent dedication to the care of Adam’s well-being.
Visiting will take place on Saturday morning May 11, 2013, from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.
At 10 a.m., his funeral will process to St. Joseph’s Church in Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 am. He will be laid to rest next to his mother in
Mountain Meadows Cemetery in Seymour.
