Agnes “Nancy” McEwen Fisher Seccombe passed away on June 19, 2024. Born on September 21, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Agnes McEwen and Thomas Tait Fisher. Except for the past year when she resided in Seymour, Nancy spent her entire life in Ansonia, Connecticut.
Nancy graduated from Ansonia High School and began her career at the Ansonia Savings Bank. She and her husband were the longtime owners of Seccombe’s Men’s Shop. She was a dedicated member of the First Congregational Church of Ansonia, where she served as a soloist in the choir for many years, founded and directed the Junior Choir, and was an active member of the Flower Committee. Nancy was also a member of the Rainbow Girls and the Daughters of Scotia.
Her husband, Charles T. Seccombe, passed away in 2017 after 68 years of marriage. Nancy was an avid fan of both men’s and women’s basketball at UCONN. She cherished traveling, family vacations in Avalon, NJ, and Sunday picnics at Bantam Lake.
Nancy is survived by her three children: Susan Cox and her husband Michael of Allentown, PA; Charles T. Seccombe Jr. and his wife Renee of Milton, GA; and Gregg S. Seccombe and his wife Shayne of Seymour, CT.
She is also survived by six grandchildren: Alyson Lindsay, Lindsay McCullough, Jon Seccombe, Justin Seccombe, Mackenzie Seccombe, and Cameron Seccombe, along with their spouses and significant others, and the ten great-grandchildren who brought additional joy to the family. Additionally, Nancy is survived by Ed and Laura Seccombe Lane, Jane Seccombe, as well as 18 nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to her friend and caregiver Joanne.
Nancy was predeceased by her siblings Tommy, Annie, Jackie, Margaret, May, Bobbie, and Betty, as well as their spouses.
A funeral service will be held at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, CT. on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
