Albert A. Auscavitch, 88, of Oxford, entered into peaceful rest on Monday morning, December 13, 2010, at the Griffin Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Mosko Auscavitch.
Mr. Auscavitch was born in Derby on January 20, 1922, son of the late Benjamin and Paulina Auscavitch. He was employed as a tool maker at United Shoe Machinery until his retirement. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Albert honorably served during WW II and participated in the Invasion of Normandy.
He is survived by a loving son, Albert R. Auscavitch and his wife Lynn A. of Oxford, a brother, Charles Auscavitch of Shelton, two cherished grandchildren, Ashley L. Auscavitch of Providence, RI and Aaron M. Auscavitch of Chicago, IL, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Charles Auscavitch and a brother Anthony A. Auscavitch.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral on Saturday December 18, 2010, at 8:15am from the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Private burial with military honors will take place in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4 – 6 pm.
